» Healthy Start for Active Kids

This partnership is a joint training program developed in New Brunswick and delivered since 2017. The program combines the “best of” Healthy Start and the New Brunswick program Active Kids. The goal is to offer engaging face to face workshops in New Brunswick to increase opportunities for young children and adults to engage in quality physical activity as well as healthy eating experiences and is open to all individuals and organizations working with young children and families in New Brunswick.

Healthy Start for Active Kids regional trainings
Active Kids training workshops are available through New Brunswick Gymnastics Association and the New Brunswick Family Resource Centers (NBFRC).  Training is available by FRC staff who provide toolkits and training to families. Trained individuals also have access to additional information and resources to help them provide quality physical activity opportunities for children 0-5 years. Workshops can also be delivered outside of the family centers upon request.

Active Kids Toolkit
The aim of this program is to increase the opportunities for daily, quality physical activity for young children and the adults around them. The program provides toolkits and training workshops designed specifically to meet the needs of the parents, caregivers and other adults that want to enhance the physical activity experiences of young children.
