Job Posting – Evaluation Coordinator

Lead Organisation: Réseau Santé en français de la Saskatchewan (RSFS), Saskatchewan Network for Health Services in French (provincial NGO).

Position Details: Contract position, Full-time equivalent (37.5 hrs/wk)
Contract term: 1 year with possibility of renewal; Start Date: immediately
Salary: Remuneration will be commensurate with experience and education

Project Summary:

The Healthy Start / Départ Santé is a provincial and bilingual initiative, funded by the Public Health Agency of Canada, whose goal is to increase opportunity for regular physical activity and healthy eating in early years settings throughout Saskatchewan and in New Brunswick. The project includes evidenced-based findings to measure the impact of the Healthy Start program. The Healthy Start evaluation component, includes both outcome and process assessments to determine the overall impact of the Healthy Start intervention, as well as to evaluate what works best in enabling early learning centres to increase physical activity and healthy eating in the daily lives of young children (specifically 3 to 5 years of age). It also consists of a Social return on investment study.

Job Description:

The coordinator will report to the Principal investigator in collaboration with the Project Manager, the Evaluation Committee and is accountable to the RSFS (lead organization).  The coordinator will engage and collaborate with the Evaluation Team to implement the annual Healthy Start Evaluation plan and responsible for the following:

  • The coordination of Healthy Start Evaluation Committee – to lead and mobilize key partners of the research team through various working groups (linked to the project’s physical activity and healthy eating outcomes).
  • Coordination of work linked to Healthy Start data processing and reporting.
  • Work in collaboration with the Healthy Start Implementation team.

Qualifications:

  • Masters degree or PhD (degree or candidate) in Community Health,
  • Kinesiology, nutrition, health promotion or related field required.
  • Minimum 2 – 3 years of experience in health promotion or related field with substantial experience working with inter-disciplinary teams and partnerships, data collection and data analysis linked to a population health intervention.
  • Demonstrated experience with project/program management and program planning, implementation, monitoring of a comprehensive process and outcome evaluation.
  • Demonstrated ability to facilitate and mobilize various research committees and working groups.
  • Experience in data collection in physical activity and/or nutrition with young or school-aged children (gross motor skills evaluation, deploying accelerometers, nutritional analysis, anthropomorphic measurements, environmental scans, etc.)
  • Superior communication, organizational and coordination skills: demonstrated ability to communicate effectively (written, verbal and interpersonal in English and in French an asset).
  • The ability to work in a team environment with minimal supervision.
  • Preference will be given to a resourceful candidate with experience in community development.
  • Working knowledge of Internet and computer tools (MS Office, Access, Google docs, SPSS, SAS, webinar platforms, etc.).
  • Travelling throughout Saskatchewan is essential; must have a valid driver’s license.
